IGP KARE KAYIHURA CHALLENGED YOUNG POLICE OFFICERS TO EMULATE KAWEESI SAYING HE DILIGENTLY SERVED THE FORCE*

The Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, has paid glowing tribute to the fallen Assistant Inspector of Police, Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
The Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, has paid glowing tribute to the fallen Assistant Inspector of Police, Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
Addressing mourners at a requiem mass held at
Rubaga Cathedral, the Police chief described Kaweesi as a problem solver who
helped him to handle the force.
*Hundreds of mourners thronged
Rubaga to attend the mass.
They included high ranking
government officials, relatives, police force and members of the public*.
The Archi Bishop of Kampala Diocese Dr.
Cyprian Kizito Lwanga led the mass.
“Kaweesi always thought outside the
box. He was a problem solver. He always tried so hard to find a solution to
problems. I knew Kaweesi would help me handle the force and I made him my
personal assistant,” Kayihura said.
Explaining Kaweesi’s rapid
promotion, Kayihura said: “I identified him because he would always challenge
me.
Other officers would keep quiet but
Kaweesi would not. Kaweesi was a very pleasant person to work. I can't think of
any initiative to improve the Police that he wasn't part of.” *Kayihura
challenged young police officers to emulate Kaweesi saying he diligently served
the force*. "On behalf of Police I want to add my voice to appreciate the
outpouring of emotions towards the late Kaweesi. *I have no doubt that AIGP
Andrew Felix Kaweesi is in heaven*.
Where else would such a human being
be?” Kaweesi 43, his driver, body guard were gunned down on Friday morning at
Kulambiro a few meters from Kaweesi’s home on their way to work. Kaweesi is
survived by a widow, Annet and 4 children. He will be laid to rest at his
ancestral ground on Tuesday in Lwengo District.
