Security chiefs, Museveni meet over Kayihura; sources say he could face court martial

Big wigs in the Ugandan security have met this afternoon following the ‘arrest’ of former Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura.
The meeting that happened at the army headquarters in Mbuya on Wednesday afternoon was attended by the Chief of Defence Forces, Maj Gen David Muhoozi, the spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire and other top brass.

Sources confirm to Nile Post that President Museveni was part of the meeting by conference call.  Minutes of the meeting were then delivered to the fountain of honour at Nakasero State House.
Another source confirms that Museveni has Okayed resolutions from the meeting among which include trial at the General Court Martial. Nile Post cannot independently verify which charges have been preferred on the former IGP.
However, when we contacted an official at the General Court Martial, he confirmed there would be a sitting today.
“Yes there is a sitting today and you will need to be accredited to attend,” the official said.
